<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a means for determining a mushroom cultivation period that can easily, accurately and most efficiently produce fruiting bodies. <P>SOLUTION: A method is provided for determining an optimal mushroom cultivation period, using the expression level of a gene and/or the expression pattern thereof as an index.
