<p>A method and terminal for multi-input multi-output (MIMO) functional process are provided by the present invention. The method comprises the following steps: a terminal with MIMO function receives a physical layer indication message sent from a base station, the terminal with MIMO function activates or de-activates the MIMO function of the terminal according to the physical layer indication message. In the present invention, a base station directly activates and de-activates MIMO function of a terminal without participation of a radio network controller (RNC). The problem that signaling process time and overhead are both larger in the prior art is solved, thus reducing resource overhead and reducing time of signaling process in the process of activating and de-activating MIMO function.</p> |
