<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery that can improve the space efficiency of sheet-like positive electrodes and sheet-like negative electrodes, and can also securely prevent the excessive temperature rising of the electrodes. <P>SOLUTION: Laminated cells 16, which are formed by a plurality of sheet-like negative electrodes 14 and a plurality of sheet like positive electrodes 15 being alternately laminated with separators interposing between them, are housed in a unit part 12. The laminated cells 16 are folded back to form a U-shape. At a concave part 21 of the U-shaped laminated cells 16, in which faces 161 oppose each other with a space between them, a pair of insulating flat plates 22 and 23 and a heat transfer member 24 in a corrugated plate shape which is arranged between and connected to the two flat plates 22 and 23 are disposed.
