<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device capable of improving the visibility of image data even in a state where the luminance of a display unit is low. <P>SOLUTION: According to the present invention, an image display device provided with a display unit 4 for displaying image data comprises: a luminance switch control unit 12 that switches the luminance of the display unit 4; and an enhancement signal processing unit 11 that causes the image data to be displayed in an enhanced manner depending on the luminance switched by the luminance switch control unit 12.
