PURPOSE: A secondary battery with a safety device is provided to improve safety against penetration impacts and external impacts by forming a short circuit path between a positive electrode and negative electrode. CONSTITUTION: A secondary battery comprises: an electrode assembly(100) with a first and second electrode plates(110,120) which is winded in a roll shape by inserting a separator(150); a finishing element(200) formed on the outer circumference of the electrode assembly to approach the rolled end part(100f) of the electrode assembly. The finishing element comprises a conductive layer which is contacted to the rolled end part of the first electrode plate and is arranged to face the rolled end part(120f) of the second electrode plate. The conductive layer is arranged to face the rolled end part of the second electrode plate by inserting the separator.
