<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deterioration of fuel consumption by appropriately setting an engine start condition in a hybrid vehicle capable of EV driving. <P>SOLUTION: The hybrid vehicle includes an engine and a motor generator. The engine drives the motor generator to charge an electric storage device by using power generated by the motor generator. An ECU starts the engine when required power set based on user's accelerator operation exceeds a predetermined threshold. When the SOC of the electric storage device is low, the ECU changes the threshold of the required power so as to facilitate starting of the engine compared with a case where the SOC is high, and sets a charging target value, when charging is executed by driving the engine, larger in a low vehicle speed than in a high vehicle speed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
