A diverging and converging apparatus is provided to shorten the time for changing the proceeding direction of a work by promptly changing the heights of a diverging wheel and a conveying wheel. In a diverging and converging apparatus, a plurality of magnet gears are mounted to a wheel drive shaft(25). A wheel drive unit is constituted by a driven magnet ring rotated in the state in which the driven magnet ring does not make contact with a drive side magnet gear. After one side frame reaches a work conveying level when a conveyor frame is converted upward and downward, one of frames is lowered by a frame ascending unit(30) to avoid an impact to the work when a wheel group is moved upward and downward. |
