<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a torsion beam suspension with sufficient durability, which is easily manufactured. <P>SOLUTION: The torsion beam suspension is provided with: a pair of left-right trailing arms 1 and 2; and a torsion beam 4 which links the pair of left-right trailing arms 1 and 2. The torsion beam 4 is formed by a hollow element, and the torsion beam has cylindrical parts 14 and 16 at both ends of the torsion beam 4 and also comprises a recessed part 12 which is formed by flattening and folding the middle section of the torsion beam 4 radially inwards approximately in a cross-sectional V or U shape. The recessed part 12 and the cylindrical parts 14 and 16 are connected via gradually-changing sections 18 and 20 where cross-sectional shape gradually changes from the recessed part 12 to the cylindrical parts 14 and 16, and at least the outer side of the folded section 24 of the gradually-changing sections 18 and 20 at the recessed part 12 side is annealed. The torsion beam 4 is formed into the recessed part 12 with a tip opening side opened by flattening it radially inwards and then an opening side is formed in a closing direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
