1353695 Drilling machine, beds and frames HEATH & SHERWOOD DRILLING Ltd 3 Jan 1972 [4 Jan 1971] 91/72 Headings B3C and B3B A drilling machine comprises a base 10, Fig. 1, a drill swivel head 44, a drill hoisting and lowering drum 30, Fig. 5, a drive shaft 26 connected to the head and drum, a constant speed motor 12, an hydraulic pump 13 driven by the motor, and an hydraulic motor 17 driven by the pump, the output shaft 20 of the motor being drivably-connected to the drive shaft 26. Base 10 is mounted on skids 11. Output shaft 20 is connected through a two-speed transmission 21 to a shaft 24 of a right-angle drive 25, the drive shaft 26 of which is connected to the input shaft 28 of the hoist and swivel head drive 29, Fig. 5. Hoist drum 30 is driven through gearing 31-39 and brake shoes 40, 41, actuated by levers 42, 43, Fig. 4, and a brake drum 39 are provided. Shaft 28 also drives swivel head 44 through gearing 31, 32, 45, 46, 47. A tower 51, Fig. 1 is removably mounted on the machine for pulling the drill rods out of the drill hole. |
