PURPOSE: A power amount calculating device and a method thereof are provided to reduce the size of a sigma-delta AD(Analog Digital) converter. CONSTITUTION: A power amount calculating device comprises a plurality of sigma-delta modulators(10), a plurality of registers(30), an interrupt signal generator(50), and a digital signal process block(70). A plurality of sigma-delta modulators digitize an analog signal corresponding to a voltage and a current signal using a sigma-delta modulation method. A plurality of registers temporarily saves and outputs digital signals outputted from the plurality of sigma-delta modulators. The interrupt signal generator generates interrupt signals fitting to a clock, and delivers the signals into toggling signals to the digital signal processing block. The digital signal processing block receives the digital signals outputted form the plurality of registers, performs multiplication according to the received toggling signals, and calculates power amount.
