Optimizing a handover behavior of a mobile radio communication network based on an extended report message comprising information about a performed handover It is described a method for optimizing a handover behavior of a mobile radio communication network (100, 200) comprising at least a first base station (110, 210) and a second base station (120, 220). The provided method comprises (a) performing a handover (115) of a user equipment (140) from the first base station (110, 210) to the second base station (120, 220); (b) adding an information element representing a property of the user equipment (140) to a report message (122) comprising information about the performed handover; (c) forwarding the report message (122) from the second base station (120, 220) to the first base station (110, 210); and (d) optimizing the handover behavior of the mobile radio communication network (100, 200) based on the added information element. Further, it is described a base station (120, 220, 320) which in conjunction which at least one another base station (110, 210) of the mobile radio communication network (100, 200) is configured for carrying out the described handover behavior optimization method.
