PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a derailment detector of an elevator capable of simplifying the fitting work and realizing the high detection accuracy. SOLUTION: The derailment detector 21 comprises a pair of guide rails 6a, 6b extending in a hoistway 2 along the vertical direction, and a traveling body 4 which is guided by the guide rails 6a, 6b to be elevated/lowered in the hoistway 2. The derailment detector 21 is provided in an elevator 1, and has a bracket 31 arranged to cover a part of the traveling body 4 when the traveling body 4 is derailed, and a detection unit for detecting the derailed state of the traveling body 4 in at least a part of an area of the entire length of the hoistway 2.
