<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide tightly coupled GPS and a dead reckoning navigation system which collect data of a wheel speed transducer on a vehicle network and calculate a vehicle range and a vehicle heading direction. <P>SOLUTION: Dead reckoning navigation fills a gap in navigation solution that occurs when GPS signal transmission is lost in general situations such as a tunnel, a parking lot, and the like. GPS fixes calculate continuous calibration for wheel radii and correction for speed effect, and the calculation improves performance and accuracy in the dead reckoning navigation during a long suspension period of GPS signal reception. When the GPS signal reception is recovered, the dead reckoning navigation solution provides a high quality start point for a GPS receiver for searching environment. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
