The exhaust passage 2 includes an enlarged part 21 with its cross-sectional area enlarged toward the downstream side in the downstream side of the dispersion part 5 and the upstream side of the exhaust purification catalyst 3. The enlarged part 21 includes a first enlarged part 211 enlarged at a first prescribed angle &theta;1, and a second enlarged part 212 enlarged at a second prescribed angle &theta;2 larger than the first prescribed angle &theta;1 in the downstream side of the first enlarged part 211. The first enlarged part 211 and the second enlarged part 212 are formed so that distances L1, L2 from a border 213 between the first enlarged part 211 and the second enlarged part 212 to the exhaust purification catalyst 3 become short at a place L2 small in an exhaust flow rate compared to a place L1 large in the exhaust flow rate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
