<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for resonator fiber optic gyroscope intensity modulation control which achieve high speed, low loss and low price. <P>SOLUTION: A method for controlling intensity modulation in a resonator fiber optic gyroscope (RFOG) includes the steps of: generating an intensity modulation error signal by demodulating digital samples of a light beam using a sinusoidal reference generated at a resonance detection modulation frequency; producing a sinusoidal feedback control signal from the intensity modulation error signal; and driving an intensity modulator with the sinusoidal feedback control signal, where the intensity modulator cancels residual intensity modulation from the light beam. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
