PURPOSE: A compressor is provided to minimize noise and damage to a suction valve by forming a plurality of suction holes which suck refrigerant. CONSTITUTION: A compressor comprises a cylinder(210) and a valve assembly(250). The cylinder forms a compression space where refrigerant is compressed. The valve assembly is connected to the leading end of the cylinder. The valve assembly comprises a plurality of suction holes, a valve plate(252), and suction valves. The refrigerant passes through the plurality of suction holes. The suction valves are laminated on one side of the valve plate, and open and close the suction holes. The valve assembly comprises a suction muffler which supplies the refrigerant being sucked to the cylinder. The suction muffler is connected to the valve assembly, and comprises a suction pipe that the refrigerant passes through. The suction holes are correspondently formed to the suction pipe.
