<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To encode and decode with high accuracy by correctly estimating a signal form in photographing based on an input signal and then determining encoding resolution and decoding resolution for each channel based on results of the estimation. <P>SOLUTION: A preprocessing analysis unit 2 includes a pixel shifting estimation unit, a photographing resolution estimation unit, and an inverse transformation filter coefficient calculation unit, and a phase difference between channels, a resolution conversion ratio, and an inverse transformation filter coefficient (hereafter referred to as side information) are generated in each of the units, respectively. An input image signal is converted into a resolution in photographing in a resolution conversion unit 6, and encoded in a successive circuit in the processing order from prediction in a screen to prediction between channels. The side information output from the preprocessing analysis unit 2 is encoded in an updated information encoding unit 4. The encoding of the side information includes direct encoding and predictive encoding. On a decoding side, the side information is decoded in a side information decoding unit and an encoded data is decoded using the side information to restore an image in photographing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
