POWER SAVING ROAD SIGN BOARD USING A MINORITY OF LED AND LIGHT GUIDE PLATE

PURPOSE: A low-power variable road sign board using a small amount of LEDs and a light guide plate is provided to control the lighting of LEDs according to road conditions and to display traffic information in the night. CONSTITUTION: A low-power variable road sign board using a small amount of LEDs and a light guide plate comprises a light guide plate(10), an LED module(20), side backlights(30), and a controller(90). The light guide plate comprises multiple through holes. The LED module is located at the rear surface of the light guide plate and comprises multiple LEDs inserted into the through holes of the light guide plate. The LEDs display traffic information. The side backlights are formed on one or more side surfaces of the light guide plate and emit light to the light guide plate. The controller selectively lights the LEDs by corresponding to the traffic information displayed on the LED module.
