The vane bearing ring (1) comprises two ring portions (5,6), which are connected with each other. The former ring portion is designed as a guide ring (4) and the latter ring portion in the mounted state, has passage openings oriented in alignment with one another. Bearing bushes (7) are provided, in which guide vanes (9) are rotatably mounted in the operating state and penetrate through the corresponding two passage openings arranged in alignment with each other. The vane bearing ring is reworked area by area by electrochemical machining processes. An independent claim is included for a charging device, particularly for an exhaust gas turbocharger, which comprises a housing, in which a variable turbine or compressor geometry is arranged.
