<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus in which a streak image that does not exist in the original image but is included in the input image data for the original image can be erased or can be made less visible by a simple processing. <P>SOLUTION: When a streak suppression mode for suppressing a streak image is validated by a mode setting unit 81, a spatial filter processing unit 108 performs spatial filter processing with a smaller degree of enhancement of sharpness of an image for a character pixel determined to be included in a character area by an area separation unit 105 when compared with the case where the streak suppression mode is not validated, and an output gradation correction processing unit 109 performs gradation correction processing with a larger degree of enhancement of sharpness of an image for the character pixel subjected to the spatial filter processing when compared with the case where the streak suppression mode is not validated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
