ASSEMBLING METHOD OF OPTICAL CONNECTOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a technology which easily removes a coating of an insertion optical fiber inserted in an optical connector.

SOLUTION: An assembling method of an optical connector is provided, which moves forward an insertion fiber 1 inserted between a base member 51 and an opening guide 50 which are superimposed to form a guiding structure to remove a coating 2 of a tip end portion of the insertion optical fiber 1 by a front coating removal portion 31; makes a bare optical fiber 3 from which the coating is removed abut with a built-in optical fiber 3 built in a ferrule 10; separates the opening guide 50 from the base member 51 to form a space for permitting the deflective deformation of the insertion optical fiber 1 in the abutting state; and then grips and fixes an abutting portion P between the bare optical fiber 3 and the built-in optical fiber 12 by a clamp portion 20.
