Land sections are defined and formed on the tread of a pneumatic tire (1), the rotational direction of which is specified, by tilted grooves (5) extending in the width direction of the tire from both tread ends (11) toward the equator (e) of the tire while being tilted in the rotational direction. Branched grooves (9) are disposed in the tread of the pneumatic tire (1) in such a manner that each of the branched grooves (9) is branched from a portion of each of the tilted grooves, the portion being located in a region extending from the tread end (11) to a position at a distance of 1/4 of the width of the tread. The branched grooves (9) extend in the width direction of the tire toward the equator (e) of the tire and are oriented to the side opposite the side to which the tilted grooves (5) are oriented, and the branched grooves (9) terminate in the land sections. |
