<p>A transmission device is provided with: an image capturing unit to capture an image of a subject and generate a plurality of frame images which are temporally successive; an analysis unit to analyze the size of the movement of the subject using at least two frame images generated by the image capturing unit; a watching/listening environment reception unit to receive a watching/listening environment from a reception device; and a network band measurement unit to measure a degree of network congestion. The transmission device is further provided with: a control unit which, on the basis of the size of movement of the subject, the watching/listening environment, and the degree of network congestion, controls the data volume of the plurality of frame images generated by the image capturing unit and determines a predetermined parameter for encoding; a coding unit which, on the basis of the predetermined parameter, encodes the plurality of frame images; and a transmission unit which transmits the encoded plurality of frame images.</p> |
