<p>The method involves bending a metal strip (1) two times, such that a cross-section of the metal strip, a middle section (10) and two flank sections (13,14) are formed, which stick out from two opposite end areas (23,24) of the middle section. The middle section is compressed by element of two complementary roller arrangements, which engage both the opposite end areas of the middle section. The metal strip is locally thickened.
