PURPOSE: A method and a device for automatically evaluating the performance of a vehicle are provided to automatically simulate a malicious environment condition by diversely controlling a power condition of the vehicle, thereby confirming the existence of malfunction and automatically verifying malfunction code of whole units. CONSTITUTION: A method for automatically evaluating the performance of a vehicle comprises next steps. A test case which is composed of key operation signals, battery attaching/detaching signals, and variable voltage signals is arranged in an automatic evaluating device in between a battery of the vehicle and electronic units(S100). A test case is performed through switching or applying voltage to the vehicle(S300). Breakdown signals, which are generated in the electronic units by the performance of the test case and stored in the vehicle, are stored in the automatic evaluating device(S400). A result of the confirmation of the vehicle malfunction is stored in the automatic evaluating device(S500). Results of the confirmation of a vehicle breakdown and the vehicle malfunction are gathered so that the existence of the normality of the vehicle is determined(S800).
