PURPOSE: A variable inductor and a driving method thereof are provided to maximize the efficiency of an electric power inverter in all load areas. CONSTITUTION: A core(110) has a closed loop shape and an aperture part. A magnetic fluid part(120) is formed in the aperture part. The magnetic fluid part changes inductance by using magnetic field. An electrode part(130) faces the magnetic fluid part. The electrode part includes a coil wound in the core.
