PURPOSE: A method and system for automatically controlling the volume in a multilateral communication system are provided to automatically control the energy level of voice signals received from multiple transmitters using gain of the voice signals. CONSTITUTION: A preprocessing unit decodes input signals which include voice signals from one or more transmitters. A received signal level control unit calculates the energy level of the decoded input signals by detecting voice activity of the input signals(S400). The received signal level control unit creates gain of the input signals using the calculated energy level and a receiver signal level selected by the receiver(S420). The received signal level control unit controls the volume level of the input signal using the gain of the created input signal(S430).
