The invention provides a method of generating a multi-channel signal from a down-mixed signal, comprising obtaining a configuration of channels available in a decoding end, other than a configuration for use in the down-mixed signal; obtaining a first matrix depending on the obtained configuration of channels, by using spatial cues; generating a signal to be input to a decorrelator and a direct signal, from the down-mixed signal, by using the first matrix; decorrelating the generated signal as a decorrelated signal; obtaining a second matrix depending on the obtained configuration of channels, by using the spatial cues; and combining the direct signal and the decorrelated signal, by using the second matrix, to generate the multi-channel signal corresponding to the obtained configuration of channels. |
