PAPER FEEDING APPARATUS, AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent double paper feed erroneous detection due to abnormal conditions of a double paper feed detection sensor on and after the turning-on of a power supply.

SOLUTION: This paper feeding apparatus includes: double paper feed detection sensors 47a, 47b detecting a physical quantity corresponding to the number of fed sheets of paper P conveyed along a paper conveyance path; and a control unit having a double paper feed detection function determining the occurrence of double paper feed based on output signals of the double paper feed detection sensors. The control unit invalidates the double paper feed function during execution of the current job when the number of determinations that the double paper feed successively occurs during the job execution reaches a first prescribed number of times.
