<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing device that recognizes points filled in by a user in an image of a paper document filled in by the user and displays an object to be displayed at a point where a mark has been recognized on the recognized image in an overlapping manner when displaying a result of the recognition, thereby reducing work to confirm the recognition result of the paper document with the mark written thereon and facilitating operator's correction work. <P>SOLUTION: A client computer 200 receives setting of form definition information on a zone that is to be subjected to recognition processing (OMR processing (mark recognition processing) and OCR processing (character recognition processing)) in an input original document image. The client computer performs the recognition processing on the zone in the recognition target image on the basis of the set form definition information, and generates an object indicating a result of the recognition of the zone after the mark recognition processing.
