PURPOSE: Screen orientation determination method and mobile terminal using this are provided to recognize face orientation based on image recognition, decide screen orientation to match with face orientation, and change screen orientation automatically, thereby decide the screen orientation by minimizing user inconvenience. The screen direction is decided while the inconvenience of the user is minimized. CONSTITUTION: Sensor(140) senses inclination of body. Control unit(180) recognizes face orientation through camera(121), and decides screen orientation according to inclination of the body and orientation of the face. Output unit(150) indicates screen by the determined orientation. The sensor senses the orientation using gravity sensor, gyro sensor or any combinations. The control unit recognizes face or position of specific part of the face.
