PURPOSE: A positive electrode for a lithium secondary battery is provided to have low electric resistance and excellent volume energy density and load properties. CONSTITUTION: A positive electrode(10) for a lithium secondary battery comprises a current collector(1), a positive electrode active material layer(30) which comprises a positive electrode active material(13) and a vanadium oxide-containing coating layer(5). The thickness of the coating layer is 2000-3000 nm. The content of the vanadium oxide in the positive electrode active material layer is 8-12 weight% based on the total weight of the positive electrode active material and vanadium oxide. The lithium secondary battery comprises the positive electrode, a negative electrode comprising a negative electrode active material, and a nonaqueous electrolyte.
