This invention relates to a front body structure of a vehicle, said front body structure having a front side frame which has a closed cross section shape and is arranged so as to extend in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle. On the bottom of the inner wall portion in the vehicle width direction of the front side frame (2), a recessed portion (23) is formed recessed outwards in the vehicle width direction so as not to interfere with the power train. In the front side frame (2), a reinforcing member (25) is arranged over the longitudinal dimension of the recessed portion (23). The top of said reinforcing member (25) is joined to the intermediate portion and/or at the outer portion in the vehicle width direction on a top wall portion (26) of the front side frame (2), and the side portion of the reinforcing member (25) is joined to the wall portion corresponding to the recessed portion (23). By means of such a structure, collision load of the vehicle can be effectively absorbed while keeping sufficient arrangement space for the power train in the front of the vehicle.
