METHOD AND RBRIDGE FOR AVOIDING ESADI PROTOCOL PACKET STORMS

A method and device for avoiding end station address distribution information (ESADI) protocol packet storms, said method comprising: when an RBridge discovers that a new neighbor has joined, the RBridge sends to said new neighbor by unicast means a link status protocol (LSP) data unit packet. The present method and device prevent the occurrence of multicast storms, thus avoiding any major impact of same on equipment, and enhancing the stability and robustness of networks and equipment.
