EXPANDABLE POLYSTYRENE BEADS HAVING CHLORINATED PARAFFIN AND THE MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A manufacturing method of an expandable polystyrene bead is provided to obtain an expandable polystyrene particle which has excellent heat insulation and flame retardancy, and improved water resistance, compressive strength and flexural strength. CONSTITUTION: A manufacturing method of an expandable polystyrene bead comprises: a step of mixing 0.05-10 parts by weight of a heat-insulating material with 1-70 micron with 100.0 parts by weight of an expandable polystyrene particle; a step of mixing the mixture with 20-500 rpm; and a step of spraying 0.1-5 parts by weight of chlorinated paraffin into organic solvent which can dissolve styrene to penetrate the heat-insulating material and the chlorinated paraffin into the surface layer of the expandable polystyrene particle. The surface layer of the expandable polystyrene particle surface layer is softened to penetrate the heat-insulating material and the chlorinated paraffin into the surface layer.
