PURPOSE: A system and method for a combustion diagnosis are provided to reduce the number of fail stops, and to detect an abnormal state in combustion for a coal gasification combined cycle power plant. CONSTITUTION: A system for a combustion diagnosis comprises a coal gasification combined cycle power plant, an information collecting unit, a combustion diagnosis unit, and an output unit. The coal gasification combined cycle power plant is supplied with coal gas based on the operating condition of a gasifier, and generates power by burning the coal gas. The information collecting unit collects the information on the operating state of the coal gasification combined cycle power plant according to the supply condition of the cola gas. The combustion diagnosis unit diagnoses the combustion state of the coal gasification combined cycle power plant based on the information about the operating state, and analyzes a stabilization margin.
