349,559. Face-powder boxes. DAVIS, C., . 22, Rue de Longchamp, Neuilly-sur- Seine, France. Feb. 28, 1930, No. 6767. Convention date, April 9, 1929. [Class 18.] A face-powder box has a compartment for loose powder and means adapted to be operated by the user to compress the powder into a firm compact. A compresser 2, Fig. 1, holds a puff 5 and it can screw or slide on to the powder 3 in a container 1, which latter may have a lid. In another example, Fig. 2, the compresser is integral with a casing 1 which has a hinged lid 7 with a mirror, and the powder-container 6 screws inside a depending flange on the casing. In use, the puff is removed and the container 6 completely unscrewed and placed on a ledge 2 in the casing. The casing may have a sliding lid and, in this example, the container 6 after being unscrewed can be placed on the bottom of the compresser after the casing has been inverted. The device is made of metal or other material, e.g. glass may be used for the contacting surface of the compresser. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also an arrangement in which the compresser may slide and be rotatable in the powder-container. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted. |
