摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure stable excited light output from an excited light source including a multiplexer for an optical amplifier even when the polarization state changes due to external factors, such as the state of a fiber and ambient temperature. <P>SOLUTION: An excited light output device includes: excited light sources 11, 12 for emitting excited light with different polarization states; drive means 21, 22 for controlling the excited light output from the excited light sources; polarizing and synthesizing means 15 for polarizing and synthesizing excited light beams outputted from the excited light sources; polarized light passing means 17 for passing polarized light that is a part of the light emitted from the polarizing and synthesizing means and has the same polarization state as that of the excited light emitted by the excited light sources; and light receiving means 18 for receiving the polarized light having passed the polarized light passing means.
