The mechanism has upper and lower kinematic chains stretching on the skin (2) at respective corners (13, 14) of lips (9, 10) of a mouth by attachment members (15, 16) that are movable by lateral actuators in two directions along arched paths (28,29) extending around a mouth area. The upper kinematic chain includes a pusher (17) that is bidirectionally movable in a front direction (F) transverse to a general plane of extent of the skin. The lower kinematic chain includes a pull tab (18) movable along two directions opposing an elevation direction (E) and extending from one lip to the other lip. An independent claim is also included for a humanoid figure.
