IMPACT MODIFIER FOR METACRYL-BASED RESIN HAVING EXCELLENT IMPACT STRENGTH AND OPTICAL PROPERTY AND METHOD OF PREPARING THE SAME

PURPOSE: An impact reinforcing agent is provided to improve impact strength without degrading transparency when applied to a methacryl-based resin and to have excellent yellowness by minimizing metamerism effects without using a separate molecular weight controller. CONSTITUTION: An impact reinforcing agent for methacryl resins comprises 5-30 weight% of seed, 50-60 weight% of an acrylic rubber core, and 15-50 weight% of a shell. The refractivities of the seed, acrylic rubber core and shell are within the range of 1.48-1.49. Refractivity differences between the seed and acrylic rubber core, and the acrylic rubber core and shell are respectively within the range 0.001-0.03. The refractivity of the seed is lower than the refractivity of the acrylic rubber core by 0.001-0.03 and the refractivity of the acrylic rubber core is larger than the refractivity of the shell by 0.001-0.03.
