The cable has cryostat that is provided with two concentric metal tubes (4,5). An insulation portion (6) is arranged between the metal tubes. The cryostat has first axial portion (7) having a first axial spring constant, and second axial portion (8) having a second axial spring constant. The second axial spring constant is 20% more than the first axial spring constant. An independent claim is included for method of manufacturing superconductor cable.
