A light switch 1 comprises a front plate 15 a plurality of buttons 17, 19, 21, 23 mounted on the front plate 15 a housing (25, fig 2B) and a micro-controller (27, fig 1) connected to the buttons 17, 19, 21, 23 and a set of contacts (33, fig 2B) wherein the micro-controller (27) is contained within the housing (25). The contacts are suitable for attachment to LED strip lights (7, 9, 11, 13, fig 1). The switch preferably allows dimming and timing control of an attached light source and may include four contacts (33, fig 2B) for attachment to red, blue, green and white LED lights.
