The linkage (128) has a rigid beam element moved at a predetermined distance over a window, where the beam element is adapted to guide a wiper blade (125). A spring unit (120) is between the beam element and the wiper blade to exert different pressure forces on the different portions (135) of the wiper blade. The spring unit is comprised of multiple spiral springs that are arranged along the linkage, where the spiral springs are integrally formed with each other. The spring unit is provided with multiple pneumatic cushions (605). An independent claim is provided for a wiper system with a device for individual control of the pneumatic pressure in the cushions.
