<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To fully charge a snubber capacitor without providing a special configuration of direct supply connection from a smoothing capacitor to the snubber capacitor. <P>SOLUTION: A motor controller 100 includes: a smoothing capacitor 2; an inverter part 3 in which three sets of two serially connected arm switching elements 11 are connected in parallel to be a three phase; a dynamic brake circuit part 5 having a brake circuit rectifier 21 that is connected to the output side of the inverter part 3, and a damping resistor 23 and a damping switching element 22 that are connected in parallel with the brake circuit rectifier 21; a snubber circuit part 6 containing a snubber capacitor 31 connected in parallel with the damping switching element 22; and a drive control part 7 for outputting a gate signal for each arm switching element 11 and a brake damping signal for the damping switching element 22.
