PURPOSE: A composition containing ginseng flower bud extract is provided to protect liver from damage and to prevent alcoholic fatty liver. CONSTITUTION: A composition which prevents alcoholic liver damage or alcoholic fatty liver or reliving hangover contains 10-50 wt% of ginseng flower bud extract. The ginseng flower bud is obtained from Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer, Panax quinquefolium, Panax notoginseng, Panax japonicum, Panax trifolium, or Panax pseudoginseng. A health functional food for preventing alcoholic liver damage or alcoholic fatty liver contains the composition containing ginseng flower bud extract. A pharmaceutical composition for preventing alcoholic liver damage or alcoholic fatty liver contains the ginseng flower bud extract and pharmaceutically acceptable carriers.
