[Classes 19 and 138 (i).] A device for cleaning fibrous materials consists of a brush 2, Fig. 1, combined with a ribbed rubber element 1 which becomes electrically charged by friction and collects dust disturbed by the brush. The ribbed element 1 more or less surrounds the brush. In one modification, Fig. 3, ribbed rubber pieces 1b are made separately for attachment to a stock 1a. In another modification, (not shown), the brush also is detachable. In a third modification for use as a broom, parallel brushes and ribbed members are used together. In a further modification, Fig. 8, a rotary brush 2c operated by a handle 3a is used. In a final modification, Fig. 9, a brush 2b is slidable in a handle 1a which is tapered at one end 7 for use in corners. |
