PURPOSE: A manufacturing method of glass substrates is provided to maintain the viscosity or convection of molten glasses by controlling joule heat based on the resistivity. CONSTITUTION: A manufacturing method of glass substrates comprises the following step: manufacturing molten glass by melting the raw material of the glass. The dissolution processing comprises the following steps: generating Joule heating by spilling current to the molten glass by arranging the molten glass between a pair of electrodes(114) and applying the voltage; calculating resistivity of the molten glass by measuring the current and voltage value; and controlling the Joule heating based on the calculated resistivity. The pair of electrodes is used as pairs. In each pair of the electrodes, the domain in which current flows is set up.
