<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving support device capable of helping smooth running for a following vehicle after a vehicle to be an object of driving support as well. <P>SOLUTION: A driving support section 130 acquires running information via an on-vehicle communication instrument 110 to determine whether or not a following vehicle after a vehicle C to be an object of driving support is in an economical running state. The driving support section 130 determines whether a vehicle operation in the following vehicle is economical or not on the basis of the running information acquired from the following vehicle.
