POWER GENERATOR AND PERMANENT MAGNET GENERATOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively provide a power generator with less possibility that burning of a permanent magnet generator due to interphase short circuit occurs when the interphase short circuit occurs in the permanent magnet generator.

SOLUTION: A power generator 100 includes: a three-phase AC generator 10; bidirectional thyristors TR1 to TR3 which are installed so that phase winding of the three-phase AC generator 10 and a neutral point can be disconnected, in which current flows in two directions in a conduction state and which self-holds the conduction state until the current does not flow after a gate signal is inputted; a self-excitation gate signal generating circuit 30 outputting the gate signal of the bidirectional thyristor corresponding to the phase winding in a period including timing when AC voltage excited in the phase winding of the three-phase AC power generator 10 is switched from positive to negative and a period including timing when the voltage is switched from negative to positive; and a controller 70 outputting the gate signal when the three-phase AC power generator 10 is started.
