The invention describes a method and an arrangement for the exchange of a segment in an electric machine. According to the invention an electrical machine is assembled or disassembled, which comprises a rotor and a stator. The stator and the rotor are arranged in relation to each other to achieve a predetermined air-gap between the rotor and the stator. The electrical machine is assembled or disassembled whereby a distance-element is arranged in the air gap in a way that the rotor and the stator are contactless movable in relation to each other while the machine is assembled or disassembled.
